Positive reciprocal effects can ripple throughout the Marquette community.
We, as a volunteer organization, recognize and appreciate the value of NMU students in our community. We wish to promote a positive and mutual relationship of support between university students and the larger Marquette community by bringing together student needs and community resources. We believe that the resulting positive reciprocal effects can ripple throughout the Marquette community.
Our Mission
The purpose of Ripple Effect of Marquette County is to connect Northern Michigan University students with basic living needs in support of their educational pursuits and to foster positive interactions and goodwill between the NMU campus and the local community. We have provided winter clothing, bedding, food, school supplies, and emergency funds to students over the past ten years.
Show your support through financial and/or physical donations or by joining our nonprofit organization.
Are you an NMU student, or know of an NMU student in need? Coats, boots, gloves, hats, and school supplies are located in the Dean of Students Office in Hedgcock. Bedding, kitchen supplies, toiletries, and other household items can be found in the Ripple Room, which is located in NMU’s Food Pantry in Gries Hall.
